SaM2 2022
, Orange, 750ML
Anjou is Chenin country, but Guillaume's micro-parcel of Sauvignon Blanc gets the limelight in this bottling. Call it an orange wine, skin-macerated or perhaps even rosé (a bit of red grapes Grolleau and Gamay are added at fermentation), it’s eminently crushable and perfect for lighter winter meals or as an aperitif.
Region: Loire (Anjou)
Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc (90%), Gamay (5%) & Grolleau Noir (5%)
Alc : 12,5 %
Production : 200 cases
About the winemaker: The Anjou region of the Loire likely has France's highest concentration of neo-vignerons, winemakers who turned to grape-growing as a second career. Guillaume Noire is no exception, having left Paris behind a decade ago for Rablay-sur-Layon, a small village that’s home to a group of cult producers making excellent micro-production Chenin Blanc and crushable reds.
