Raphaël Picconet and Hannah Boesel make beautiful, soulful zero-dosage Champagnes and some delicious Coteaux Champenois from a variety of sloped chalky parcels overlooking the Seine.

There's a real energy in this part of Champagne, we're far from the monoculture of the Marne up north. Neuville-sur-Seine is just a few miles from the Seine’s source, where hunting woods and wheat farms mix with vines — and the Bichery wines reflect this biodiversity.

Raphael and Hannah are an entrenched fixture among a group of local friends (including Charles Dufour, Alain and Salima Cordeuil, Amaury Beaufort and our own Paul Clergeot) that are this region's emerging stars.
